“Roll back the rugs, and turn up the music”

Christmas is here and in full swing. New York City couldn’t be prettier this time of year. The windows are filled with beautiful displays, all the tree’s have been lit, and moods have been lifted after this difficult year. I’m almost done shopping and ready to head back to my hometown of Dallas on Friday. I can’t wait for this much needed break!

The title was the theme of the recently decorated Living Room by Charlotte Moss and team for the Holiday House Showhouse to benefit the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Oh Kelly...

I love Kelly, just as much as the next designer but after her stunt in November’s issue of Domino she broke my trust. I’m sorry but the full on 80’s/70’s look will never and should never come back (at least not to that extent). The hideous faded mountain fabric you selected, I’m really beginning to question your taste. Kelly, really what were you thinking? I would have thought it was just some crazy client with blue eye shadow and too much Botox that you couldn’t turn down, but no, it was your guest house, YOUR guest house. Kelly really, I expected more from you.

At least your beginning to redeem yourself starting with this new beauty you added to the website…

Hall Of Fame Awards

Last night I attended Interior Design Magazine’s annual Hall of Fame Awards at the Waldorf Astoria. Not only did I have a wonderful time, but I was blown away by the winners including Steven Harris, Lucien Rees Roberts, Gwynne Pugh, Lawrence Scarpa, Takashi Sugimoto, and Erwin Hauer.

Each winner was given an introduction by the fabulous Cindy Allen (Editor in Chief), and a video of their history, where they came from and how they got to where they are in their career. Of course I fell in love with residential architect and interior design team, Steven Harris and Lucien Rees Roberts. Below are just a few of their works…
